Ampoule

An ampoule (sometimes spelled ampule) is a small, sealed vial, typically made of glass, used to contain and preserve a sample, most commonly a liquid substance such as medication, a chemical compound, or a biological sample. Ampoules are hermetically sealed to protect their contents from contamination and oxidation, and they are usually opened by snapping off the neck.
