Bulla

A bulla is a rounded, blister-like elevation filled with serous or seropurulent fluid, often larger than a vesicle (a small blister). It can appear on the skin or mucous membranes and results from various causes, including infections, autoimmune diseases, burns, or drug reactions. In archaeology, a bulla refers to a small, sealed clay or metal tag used to authenticate documents or other valuable items. Furthermore, it may refer to a bubble-like, air-filled structure or cavity within a bone or anatomical structure.
