Cheetah
The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is a large feline of the family Felidae, characterized by its slender build, spotted coat, and remarkable speed. Known as the fastest land animal, it is capable of reaching speeds of up to 75 mph (120 km/h) in short bursts, enabling it to effectively hunt its prey across open grasslands, savannahs, and scrublands. Cheetahs are typically tan or yellowish in color with black spots, possess small, rounded ears, and have distinct black tear stripes running from the inner corners of their eyes down to the sides of their nose. They are primarily diurnal hunters, relying on their speed and keen eyesight to pursue gazelles, antelopes, and other swift animals. They are classified as a vulnerable species by the IUCN, with habitat loss and conflict with humans being significant threats to their survival.
