Co-oligomer
A co-oligomer is a polymer composed of a small number of repeating units, derived from two or more different monomers, which are typically combined chemically. Unlike homopolymers (formed from a single type of monomer), co-oligomers exhibit properties that are a combination of, or sometimes a synergistic effect beyond, the properties of the individual monomers they comprise. This molecular architecture allows for the tailoring of material characteristics like flexibility, strength, and solubility. The specific arrangement of the monomers within the chain, whether random, alternating, block, or graft, also influences the final characteristics of the co-oligomer.
