Crinoid

A marine animal of the phylum Echinodermata, characterized by a distinctive stalk (in some species) and a flower-like body. Crinoids, also known as sea lilies or feather stars, are ancient organisms, with fossils dating back millions of years. They typically have multiple arms, used for filter-feeding. They are often found in tropical and subtropical waters, living attached to the seafloor or freely moving. The stalked forms are called sea lilies, while the free-swimming ones are feather stars.
