• Cupric sulfate (CuSO₄), commonly known as blue vitriol, is a widely used chemical. Its blue color is a characteristic feature, easily identifying the presence of cupric ions in solution and is essential for a variety of chemical processes due to it's stability.
• The formation of a cupric oxide (CuO) layer on copper metal during heating in air at high temperatures is a common example of cupric compound formation. This black oxide layer tarnishes the copper surface and alters its electrical conductivity.
