• The country's economic dependence on a single industry made it vulnerable to global market fluctuations. A sudden drop in oil prices caused the nation's economy to shrink drastically, highlighting its dangerous over-reliance on a single commodity and its subsequent issues. Policymakers sought to diversify the economy to reduce future vulnerabilities.
• Her emotional dependence on her partner prevented her from making independent life choices. Because she felt she needed her partner's approval, she wasn't able to move forward, and had trouble forming meaningful relationships with others. Her anxiety stemmed from a perceived loss of control and a fear of being alone.
