East-south

East-south refers to a direction that lies between east and south on a compass. It is a secondary intercardinal direction, situated 45 degrees clockwise from east and 45 degrees counterclockwise from south. This direction can also be expressed as the degree marking 135 degrees on a compass. Navigational tools, geographical descriptions, and meteorological reports often utilize this term to describe a location or the movement of something relative to the Earth's surface. The term effectively pinpoints a specific sector of the horizon and is commonly written as ES or E-S for brevity. In short, a region that is east-south is found toward the half-way point of the East and South locations.
