A gully is a narrow and steep-sided channel or ravine that is formed by the erosion of soil and rock due to the continuous flow of water. Gullies typically form in areas with loose soil where heavy rainfall or water runoff has passed through, creating a distinct geographic feature that can contribute to the landscape's drainage system.

• After the heavy rain, the small stream had transformed into a gully, carving its way through the landscape and creating a new path for water flow. Wildlife can often be seen near the gully, seeking out the moist environment and the vegetation that grows alongside it.
