Mortifying

Mortifying describes something that causes a strong feeling of embarrassment, shame, and humiliation. Mortifying meaning with examples

• During the presentation, Sarah's computer crashed, and the embarrassing screensaver flashed across the projector for all to see. This was incredibly mortifying. The entire room erupted in nervous laughter as she scrambled to shut it down and restart the presentation, leaving her flushed with embarrassment and unable to meet anyone's gaze for the rest of the day.
• John accidentally sent a rather intimate email to his boss instead of his partner. Realizing his error, he immediately tried to recall the message, but it was too late.
