Necrose

Necrose (verb) - To undergo or cause to undergo necrosis, the localized death of living tissue. This process results from various factors like injury, infection, or inadequate blood supply, leading to cell and tissue damage and eventual decomposition. Necrosis differs from apoptosis (programmed cell death) in that it is uncontrolled and often elicits an inflammatory response, leading to potential complications. The term is frequently used in medical contexts describing the deterioration of body parts.

Necrose meaning with examples

• The frostbite was so severe that the exposed fingers began to necrose, requiring immediate medical intervention to prevent further tissue damage and possible amputation. The doctors had to decide what procedure they were going to take on the damage.
