The term 'non-fish' refers to any aquatic animal or organism that is not classified as a fish. This broad category encompasses a diverse range of creatures including invertebrates like crustaceans (crabs, shrimp), mollusks (squid, snails), and echinoderms (starfish, sea urchins), as well as vertebrates such as amphibians (frogs, salamanders), reptiles (sea turtles, crocodiles), marine mammals (whales, dolphins, seals), and even aquatic birds (penguins, pelicans). They may share aquatic environments and sometimes even resemble fish, but lack the defining characteristics of true fish, such as possessing gills and fins for locomotion and respiration and typically having a skeleton of bone or cartilage.
