Orbited (verb, past tense of orbit): To travel around a celestial body (like a planet, star, or moon) in a curved path caused by gravitational attraction. This circular or elliptical movement implies a continuous revolution around a central point, maintaining a consistent and recurring trajectory. It can also be used metaphorically to describe revolving around a person, object, or idea, often suggesting persistent focus or involvement, such as someone's attention 'orbited' a specific problem or subject. Orbited also suggests the ability to return to its starting point or continue around the planet, or star, or whatever the item of orbit around. The items of orbit are usually, and almost exclusively, in a vacuum, as orbit requires there to be nothing else. Therefore, it's not applicable to the Earth's surface and is almost exclusively reserved for space.
