Puffball
A puffball is a type of fungus characterized by its round, spore-filled fruiting body. These fungi typically range in size from a marble to a large soccer ball and are usually white or tan when young, darkening with age. When mature, they release clouds of spores upon being disturbed, hence the name. Puffballs grow in various habitats, including grasslands, woodlands, and gardens, and are generally considered edible when young and white inside, though caution is advised as some species are poisonous. They play a vital role in the ecosystem by decomposing organic matter.
