Queer-bashing

Queer-bashing refers to acts of violence, harassment, or intimidation directed towards individuals perceived as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or otherwise non-heteronormative (LGBTQ+). These attacks can range from verbal abuse and social ostracization to physical assault and even murder. The motivation behind Queer-bashing typically stems from prejudice, homophobia, transphobia, and a rejection of gender and sexual diversity. It is a hate crime fueled by intolerance and the desire to inflict harm and instill fear. This behavior can have severe psychological and physical consequences for the victims, leading to trauma, anxiety, depression, and a diminished sense of safety.
