Ray

A ray is a narrow beam of light, radiation, or other form of energy. It can also refer to a thin line or streak, often used figuratively to describe a quality or feeling that emanates from something or someone. In physics, it describes a stream of particles or electromagnetic radiation traveling in a straight line, originating from a point source. Furthermore, a ray can describe the cartilaginous fish of the order Rajiformes, known for their flattened bodies and wing-like pectoral fins. The term can also be applied to a small or brief amount of something, like a 'ray of hope'.
