Reoxygenation is the process of restoring or increasing the oxygen supply to a tissue, organ, or organism that has experienced oxygen deprivation (hypoxia or anoxia). The goal of reoxygenation is to facilitate cellular respiration, maintain metabolic function, and prevent or reverse tissue damage caused by lack of oxygen.
