Rummy

Rummy is a card game belonging to the family of matching games, where the primary objective is to form sets and runs of cards and then to meld them. Players draw cards, either from a stock pile or a discard pile, attempting to improve their hand by forming valid combinations, or 'melds'. Melds typically consist of sets (three or four cards of the same rank) or runs (three or more cards of consecutive rank in the same suit). The game culminates in a player 'going out' by melding all their cards and discarding their final card. The other players then have to count and total their unmatched cards, with a lower total number of cards usually winning. Variations of the game exist globally, using different strategies of melds, but the fundamental gameplay remains consistent.
