A **shitposter** is an internet user who intentionally posts low-quality, offensive, or provocative content to online forums, social media platforms, or comment sections. This content is often designed to elicit a reaction, provoke arguments, or disrupt discussions, and typically lacks any genuine informative or constructive value. The primary goal of a shitposter is often to generate amusement (sometimes at the expense of others), troll, or simply waste time and energy. The term is often used pejoratively to describe the type of content produced, and the identity of the poster is often concealed or secondary. The 'shit' refers to the nature of the posts, indicating poor quality, unseriousness, or content deemed undesirable. The act can range from ironic meme-sharing to deliberately offensive statements.
