Slivovitz
Slivovitz (also spelled slivovica, slivovka, or szilvórium) is a fruit brandy distilled from plums, particularly Damson plums. It is a traditional spirit in several Central European countries, particularly in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, with each region often having its own distinct production methods and characteristics. The alcohol content typically ranges from 40% to 50% ABV (80 to 100 proof). The quality of slivovitz is highly dependent on the ripeness and variety of the plums used, and it is often aged in oak barrels to develop its flavor profile, which can range from fruity and floral to subtly spicy and complex.
