Split
To divide something into two or more parts; to separate or cause to separate. This can apply to physical objects, abstract concepts, or even social groups. It can also mean to share something, such as the cost of a meal, or to leave a location. In a financial context, it may describe dividing shares of a stock. Further, it can pertain to flexibility of the body, as in a gymnastic feat.
Split meaning with examples
