Unconscious

The state of being unaware of or not responsive to one's surroundings, either temporarily (as from sleep, a medical condition, or a blow) or permanently. It describes a lack of awareness, sensation, or thought. The term is often used to describe a person's lack of awareness, but it can also refer to mental processes occurring outside of conscious awareness, such as the unconscious mind, which houses thoughts, feelings, and memories not readily accessible to the conscious self. This can manifest as a loss of physical awareness, an inability to perceive stimuli, and a cessation of conscious thought processes.
