Catalepsy

Catalepsy is a neurological condition characterized by a trance-like state with loss of voluntary movement and rigidity of the muscles. Affected individuals may maintain fixed postures, even when uncomfortable, and exhibit a waxy flexibility, allowing their limbs to be molded into new positions which they then maintain. It can be a symptom of underlying medical conditions, including neurological disorders like Parkinson's disease, psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, or drug-induced side effects.
