Marc refers to the residue of grapes, olives, or other fruits after pressing to extract their juice or oil. It is particularly associated with the production of alcoholic beverages, where it represents the skins, seeds, and stems left over after fermentation. This byproduct can be further distilled to produce spirits like brandy or pomace brandy, or used in other industrial applications.
