Non-petrological meaning with examples

• The historian's research on ancient trade routes focused on economic and social impacts, remaining entirely non-petrological. His work examined the flow of goods and cultural exchange, never involving geological analysis of mineral resources or their transportation methods. The study's focus was on human activity, and the analysis didn't involve rocks or minerals. The research lacked petrological methodologies, concentrating on historical sources instead.
• The construction materials used in the skyscraper were assessed for strength and durability, but this evaluation was non-petrological.
