Noncandidate

A person who is not running for a particular office or position, or who is not considered a viable or serious contender in an election or selection process. This term encompasses individuals who have explicitly declined to run, those who are ineligible, or those whose qualifications or public support are insufficient to be competitive. A noncandidate can also refer to someone who is simply not publicly identified or discussed as a potential participant in a competition, whether political, professional, or otherwise.
