Relying is the act of trusting in, depending on, or placing confidence in someone or something. It implies a belief in the dependability, truthfulness, or effectiveness of the object of reliance. It suggests a need or expectation that the subject will provide support, assistance, or the desired outcome. The degree of reliance can vary from a minor dependence to a crucial, almost life-altering faith in the subject's actions or continued existence.
