Waking-state
The waking-state, often referred to simply as wakefulness, is the normal condition of being conscious and aware of surroundings, characterized by the ability to perceive and interact with the environment through the senses. It involves active brain function, allowing for cognitive processes like thought, memory, and reasoning. During the waking-state, the body is typically active and responsive to external stimuli, differentiating it from sleep or other altered states of consciousness. It is the primary state of existence for human beings throughout most of their lifespan.
