Bruises

Bruises, also known as contusions, are injuries that occur when small blood vessels under the skin are damaged. This damage causes blood to leak into the surrounding tissues, resulting in discoloration. They typically appear as dark patches, often ranging in color from red or purple to blue or green, before fading to yellow and eventually disappearing. The severity of a bruise depends on the extent of the blood vessel damage and the individual's health. While generally harmless, bruises can sometimes indicate underlying medical conditions.
